I celebrate what would have been the birthday of one of the most beloved stars of the silver screen with radio performances to be enjoyed for the ages. It’s Ingrid Bergman day on Once Upon a Screen with special adaptations of CASABLANCA and NOTORIOUS.
“I’ve never sought success in order to get fame and money; it’s the talent and the passion that count in success.”
Lady Esther Presents The Screen Guild Players’ adaptation of “Casablanca” from April 26, 1943 starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid.
From January 26, 1948 Ingrid Bergman stars alongside Joseph Cotten in a Lux Radio Theater adaptation of “Notorious.”
She was absolutely luminous in Casablanca, wasn’t she? Although she did have quite the wardrobe for a refugee…
Lol. Well yeah – the wife of the leader of a cause has to look the part. It’s the waters in Casablanca.
Great Post! I ♥ Ingrid and Notorious and Casablanca are my favorite films. Happy Birthday, Ingrid! 🙂
Two of my faves as well. Had to search to find complete radio versions but I did it. 😀 Enjoy! and thank you!

Where would we be without Ingrid Bergman in “Casablanca”…? YEECH! I doesn’t bear thinking about!
You made me shutter!!!
“Without a shred of pity, without a shred of regret! Watching you go with glory in my heart!” she is one of the greats!
