Friday Foto Follies: Stairs

“There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs.” – Author unknown

  1. That’s what I call a good time. Looking at all those stairs and not moving from my chair. The following quotes always come to my mind when the escalators aren’t running.

“Charge!” – Teddy in “Arsenic and Old Lace”

“Stairs, my old enemy.” – Po in “King Fu Panda 2”

    1. Thanks! There are many more I didn’t even include as you can imagine. It’s fun to think about how stairs were used through all those genres – as menace, comedy, etc.

  2. This is a nice reminder of how important an innocuous thing as a staircase can be in film. Of course, the mother of all staircases – from The Magnificent Ambersons – is missing (well, sort of – a piece of the staircase was used in the film Cat People, which is on the list).

    1. Anyone classic movie fan worth his/her salt would’ve taken me to task about The Amerberson staircase. 🙂 I didn’t forget to include it, but rather couldn’t quite get a good image on the laptop I used for this. Since you reminded me I may have to look again on my own laptop.
