Fabulous selection!
Thanks, Vienna!
That’s what I call a good time. Looking at all those stairs and not moving from my chair. The following quotes always come to my mind when the escalators aren’t running.
“Charge!” – Teddy in “Arsenic and Old Lace”
“Stairs, my old enemy.” – Po in “King Fu Panda 2”
:0D Love those!! After a while it’s difficult to remember what’s been included in these collections, but they’re fun to do.
Wow…I never realized how many iconic stairways there were in films. Horror, comedy, dramatic entrances, dancing – great collection!
Thanks! There are many more I didn’t even include as you can imagine. It’s fun to think about how stairs were used through all those genres – as menace, comedy, etc.
This is a nice reminder of how important an innocuous thing as a staircase can be in film. Of course, the mother of all staircases – from The Magnificent Ambersons – is missing (well, sort of – a piece of the staircase was used in the film Cat People, which is on the list).

Anyone classic movie fan worth his/her salt would’ve taken me to task about The Amerberson staircase. 🙂 I didn’t forget to include it, but rather couldn’t quite get a good image on the laptop I used for this. Since you reminded me I may have to look again on my own laptop.
