Thanksgiving nostalgia – Have a Happy!

Here’s wishing everyone a warm, happy and healthy holiday close to those they love.  To help celebrate enjoy a few of the sights and sounds of yesteryear.  But first, a few “Mays”…

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Thanksgiving sounds…

Following are three wonderfully entertaining, Thanksgiving-themed Old-Time Radio shows that are sure to put even the grumpiest of relatives in a good mood.

From November 22, 1945 a special episode of the “Birdseye Open House” Thanksgiving Show Starring Dinah Shore with guest, Groucho Marx:

Next, spend a 1948 Thanksgiving Weekend with Eve Arden in “Our Miss Brooks”

Finally, because I can’t do without them, also from 1948 a Burns and Allen Thanksgiving episode featuring a turkey that swallows a wedding ring:

  1. Aurora, thanks for sharing this swell smorgasbord of comedy and turkeys! Having Burns & Allen, and Groucho Marx makes this a Happy Thanksgiving indeed! 🙂 Warmest wishes to you and yours, my friend!
