Super Sweet Blogging Award

As far as blogging mentions go, this one’s just swell!  In appreciation to my friend Movies Silently who thinks enough of Once Upon a Screen to bestow upon it this sweet award I write this post…

This lovely mention is yet another reminder of the wonderful community of bloggers I happened across – they make me feel part of the gang.

And sweetness abounds as we share our love of film.

THANK YOU, Movies Silently!  For bestowing upon me this lovely honor – you get a discount on lemonade!

Now, enough of the touchy-feely stuff…I must get to the business at hand…

Super Sweet Bloggers

The rules, which I promise (for once) to adhere to:

1. Thank the Super Sweet Blogger that nominated you.
2. Answer 5 Super Sweet questions.
3. Include the Super Sweet Blogging Award in your blog post.
4. Nominate a baker’s dozen (13) other deserving bloggers.
5. Notify your Super Sweet nominees on their blogs.

My answers to the Super Sweet questions:

1. Cookies or cake?

I’ll go for the cake every time.

2. Chocolate or vanilla?

No contest!  Chocolate with chocolate on top!

3. Favorite sweet treat?

Does sugar count?  Or must I be more specific?  It’s actually difficult to pick one favored sweet treat – it depends on my mood, but chocolate is always in the mix.  Like Marilyn I pack sweets when traveling.

Well, OK.  I put her photo here for effect – who am I kidding?!

4. When do you crave sweet things the most?

From the moment I wake up…

…to when I go to sleep.

5. Sweet nick name?

None.  But if I could choose one, it’d be Snookums.

Paying it forward…

In no particular order – 9 (instead of 13) bloggers – chosen at random from blogs I love to visit and that are not mentioned among those honored by Movies Silently:

Outspoken and Freckled

Laura’s Miscellaneous Musings

Elise’s Ramblings

Comet Over Hollywood

Vienna’s Classic Hollywood

Embarrassing Treasures

Classic Movies Digest

Go visit all of them!

      1. Aurora- did I ask you about the William Castle Blogathon I’m hosting for July? Gosh I’d love it if you’d join in the celebration. Maybe you could cover his Ghost Story/Circle of Fear tv show from your retro tv blog and do a film besides!!! Hope you’ll say yes….

        1. I didn’t know about it! YES! Count me in! This is a director whose work I’m not familiar with at all! Great opportunity to learn about him. Let me get back to you with my picks. If people have already submitted theirs, I’ll check them out on your site.

          Thanks for thinking of me.

          1. Well, it’s like this, YES and NO- yes someone’s chosen it, but I’m being very open with submissions because everyone has such a unique perspective on things. I’d love it if you’d do a feature on it. I was going to do it myself because I adore Vincent Price and the film tickles me. But- if you want it, please go for it…should I count you in?

          2. DEFINITELY count me in but I’ll choose another movie. You do Haunted Hill. If THE NIGHJT WALKER is available I’ll take that one!!

          3. Haha Aurora do you want to slap me now or later. The Night Walker was the film I chose for myself … But because I like you so much you can have dibs on it… I love Stanwyck and the quirky queerness of the film, but I’m just so happy that everyone’s comin’ on board to celebrate so please do The Night Walker teehee

          4. LMAO!!! Are you sure?? I hate to take your choice! We’re on the same wave length on this. I’ve never seen that one but chose it for Stanwyck too!

          5. You know what I should do… no one has chosen I SAW WHAT YOU DID with Joan Crawford. I should do that one, and the hell with my favorites. I can do them with my eyes closed… Have at it kiddoe

          6. OK. Thanks then. You won’t believe I was replying that I’ll take a Crawford one instead. Can’t wait for this!! I’ll go to your site and take a look at the details.

          7. I’m announcing on May 31 officially which is the anniversary of Castle’s death. I’m working on the graphics today and so I don’t have the info up and running yet. I was calling out to people now to see if I had a viable Castlethon to run with. Looks like it’s going to be a hoot. I’ll let you know when the details are up-thanks kiddoe great to have you on board
