“The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” – Maya Angelou
I’ve had a long love affair with the vintage postcards from the 1930s and 1940s that featured the homes of Hollywood stars. I hope you enjoy this gallery as much as I do each image. Although some of the stories of the stars who owned the homes are tragic, I think the romance of old Hollywood is evident in many of these. I also included a few images of movie star homes that are not postcards, but are nonetheless enjoyable.
It’s funny how we react emotionally to houses. I feel like I could move right into Lugosi, Ameche and Loy’s places.
I agree with the previous poster about Loy’s house. It seems practical and livable and, in comparison to the others, so much easier to maintain.
I’d love to maintain it!! 🙂
Makes two of us!! This is a swoonfest for sure.
The William Powell postcard is currently on eBay. Tom Ford bought that house a few years back for $53million!!! 😳💰💵💸😳 Kerching!
WOWZA!
Excellent publication.
I’m glad you liked it. 🙂
