Today’s Follies pay tribute to two all-time greats who shared a birthday – Vincent Price (May 27, 1911 – October 25, 1993) and Christopher Lee (May 27, 1922 – June 7, 2015).
Considered Masters of Horror, both Lee and Price did much more than that so feast your eyes on Price Lee…
Love these pics! What a great idea for a post. I didn’t know these two greats shared a birthday. 5 years ago, when I lived much closer to St. Louis, a film group there hosted a “Vincentennial” on Price’s birthday, held at Washington University, where Price’s boyhood home is just across the street from.(Privately owned then, we were warned not to go there and take pics, etc. as the owners dislike that a lot.) What was fun was that films were aired from all across Price’s career. I chose to attend the screening of Laura, which I had only watched by myself before. It was so fun to watch it with an audience of like-minded classic film and VP fans.
That sounds like a blast! I couldn’t help but dedicate a photo gallery to these two. So many fantastic images. 🙂
What a treat!
Years ago when we first saw Hammer’s “The Hound of the Baskervilles” with Christopher Lee as Sir Henry, my daughter and I gave him the nickname of “Dreamboat”.
I know he is considered a horror icon, but Vincent is at his best for me when he is being funny.
Love this!
