I’ve been wanting to dedicate a gallery post to my home town and today I found my excuse. It was 351 years ago – on September 8, 1664 – that New Amsterdam became New York. How’s that for a stretch?
I love seeing New York in the Movies. I love movies about New York. The City’s glitz and glamour and its dark underbelly have made memorable settings for movies since the dawn of the motion picture industry. So – I offer a gallery of New York movies – an impressive lot. Note that this does not include every single movie made that has a story set either all or in part in New York, but there are well over 200 accounted for. I hope you enjoy it.

And sometimes on the way, the train is delayed and you get impatient, so you have to kill someone on the subway. That’s why there are so many subway murders; no one has a car.” ― George Carlin,
