“Everyone has a heart, except some people” (Bette Davis) so I created this post as a special Valentines public service. It is dedicated to anyone who needs to get in the mood for love.

To start, here’s a classic rendition of “I’m in the Mood for Love” performed by Carl Switzer, better known to most as Alfalfa:

Next, Darla accompanies Alfalfa on piano for Valentines Day for a very special, bubbly rendition of “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”:

Now…onto old-time radio style romancing…
- Theater of Romance: “Lady Hamilton” (1943) starring Madeleine Carroll
For anyone not familiar with Theater of Romance and since this is the first episode featured on this blog of that particular series, here’s a very brief overview:
Theater of Romance aired on CBS Radio as a thirty-minute filler for many other shows for a period of about twelve years. (OTRCat) As was the case for most anthology shows produced at the time, Theater of Romance features some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. I have to say these are not among my favorite shows due to the opening/introduction, which is somewhat annoying. However, once past that opening, the shows are enjoyable. And now, without further ado, here’s the Theater of Romance production of “Lady Hamilton” – (click on the radio to listen)

Finally, a special treat from February 11, 1948…
